Even though I was excited to have an automatic car starter to get my frozen car to thaw, I’m more than ready to not have to start it a half hour before I plan on driving anywhere!

I’m sure you can all agree that it will be amazing to be able to go outside without being bundled up, and before too long flowers will be popping through the ground and bringing some color to this gray world we’ve been stuck in for so many months!

Spring is always one of my favorite seasons, mostly because there are so many great things that it brings! Spring break, my birthday and Easter just to name a few. The very best part about spring is that it happens right before summer, which, as we all know, is flip flop season! I’m definitely ready for sun shine and warmth after such a long, cold winter.

Spring always reminds me of how alive I am because it is a time for rebirth and regrowth. Lawns go from brown to green, eventually all of the mud from melting snow dries up, and we get to see all kinds of baby animals. I remember when I was little and I found a nest of baby bunnies in the back yard – my mom would let me stand on the deck and look down to the grass below at the little piece of earth that would move around like a tiny earthquake. The momma rabbit would come back and catch me looking at her babies and stay very still so that I didn’t hurt them. That was one of the most memorable parts of my childhood.

I look forward to making memories of this spring as well and hope all of you do, too!

- Briana

It’s time for New Year’s resolutions, and that means it’s time to make a promise to yourself! Resolutions can be difficult to keep because they require commitment, thought and action. They shouldn’t be life-altering, but rather simple things that are easy to remember, so you can easily form a habit.

For example, my new year’s resolution in 2007 was to stop drinking soda. I was so committed that by March, asking for tea or water wasn’t even a conscious decision. Actually, it became so automatic that I stuck with it for almost three years, and I still prefer good, clean water to sticky, sweet soda!

Resolutions like going to the gym every day after work, or learning a new language can be difficult to keep because they are big, time consuming tasks. It is best to start small and work your way up. Why not promise your family to take a short weekend vacation to somewhere you’ve never been, or even save a little money back every paycheck for a bigger trip?

And just forget about things like pledging to not eat sweets, especially if you’re a chocolate lover! New Year’s resolutions should be something to make you a better person, not turn you into a Twinkie-obsessed crazy person! Never punish yourself with your resolutions – the goal is to come out on top and feel great about yourself!

My number one tip for staying committed to your resolution is to do it with a friend. Accountability is key, so if you’re like me and decide to read the Bible in a year, get a friend to do it with. You can discuss your struggles and strengths, and someone will always be there to remind you to keep your focus! And remember, any time is a good time to resolve to be a better you in 2010, so just because you didn’t immediately after the ball dropped doesn’t mean you can’t start now!

Bare Escentuals released their new Mascara “Flawless Definition” and I have to admit it is truly flawless.

I quit using mascara because it became more of a hassle and as a new mother I didn’t need anymore hassle in my life! My lashes sticking together and the collection of black under my eye was just NOT working.

I absolutely fell in love with the new Flawless Definition mascara. It has a unique applicator brush that really spaces out the lashes on top and bottom that gives them a “flawless” look. The mascara also feels weightless on my lashes, and the best part of all is easy clean up!

I personally recommend this mascara. It is available for purchase by itself or in our Bare Minerals Crash Course 4-piece Beauty Short-Cut kit.
